The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.
The first season introduces a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 moves, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds now.
"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.
"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on the streaming service on October 29.
