Critical Role Campaign 4 Introduces the Warriors Group

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.

The Soldiers Table Revealed

The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Why Split the Party?

Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.

This explains, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Combat Party

Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.

At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.

A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death started the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.

Casimir then cleared his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each character has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:

  • The rogue, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
  • Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • The strong character and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • But, their status as key figures in the powerful family could help the group access places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The cleric defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by the family.

This results in them no alternative but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.

Future Episodes

From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Explorers and Strategists tables.

Fans can expect discovering which players will be where in the story’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
